PERIL

A private school in Padua, Ohio had a fire in their basement.

The fire was eventually ruled as arson. It destroyed most contents in the basement and left the main floor of the building, where the offices and classrooms are located, covered in heavy soot.

A local contractor contacted Prism Specialties of Cleveland and Southwestern Pennsylvania to help with the electronics at the school. Within hours, the teams met on site to assess damages and discuss a plan of action. That same day, Prism Specialties had staff and trucks to begin inventorying and packing out the computers, phones, A/V equipment, and other electronics.

IMPACTED ITEMS

  • Computers
  • Smart Boards
  • Televisions
  • A/V Equipment

THE CHALLENGE

The school district planned to open a temporary facility to house the school, so the equipment would be needed soon. As you would expect, the computers used by the students were a top priority.

The local contractor ran the project with the school administration. Prism Specialties prioritized the items deemed most important to be at the temporary site on opening day.

SOLUTION AND BENEFITS

  • State-of-the-art tracking allowed inventory by classroom and teacher.
  • Items prioritized and rushed to get students back in class.
  • Restored items were delivered to the temporary classrooms.
